From my side, you're allowed  ;D
But only when you show, what you use!  ;)

Oh, I know this!
But I show my ugly "Bommel" with no details too.
So come on, we have no photo-contest here  ;)
Don't let me alone with bad results!

Greetings, Tanja

Okay, find the "bigger hammer" I know. It was a profile with gamma 1.0. for multiplication.
Something changes til now, but still used for pictures, which are in "two pieces" - dark and light - I think.
Hope we find out till the end of the course, what is the difference.

No haven't decided on a PS solution yet.

Only thing that works is Topaz Adjust. But I don't think Greg would approve of that.  ;)

Cheers,
Art

You can also use the L channel in LAB and fade the mask a bit.  Similar results not matching...just as good in most circles...

Hi Art,

okay, found it. New "Bigger hammer" is possible in elements too.
Go to cm, select the red-channel mask and copy it. Close cm and build an empty new layer. Copy the red channel into it and blur with gaußschen Blur by 35. Set the layer to "Overlay".
Copy the background layer and bring it to the top (over the layer with the blurred red channel), set it to "darker color" and change opasity to 50%.
That's it.

Hi Greg,

jep, nearly the same. K-channel is just a little bit better. Just a few more to paint out.
So Art, you don't need Topaz  :D

Edit to "bigger hammer":

Red-channel-mask has to be inverted.
I forget writing this step..

Just read the documentation for the action. Had to do that before, because it is all written there  :D.
But a good tip there is, that the redchannel not always is the best choice.
Same like on the contrast mask, where Greg show us other possibilities in cm, could be good to try out different masks.
Not only because this is nearly the same like the contrast mask ;-)

Hi Folks,

Here is my first attempt trying to implement the good suggestions of Greg and Tanja.
I think we can all agree that the implementation is somewhat less than perfect, and that a second attempt is in order.

Greg- just to clarify -- did you mean use a K-channel mask and then adjust the image in the L channel?  Not use a L-channel mask, right?

Cheers,
Art

If the K channel mask is not getting copied correctly; you can use the L channel as a mask.
Similar results just a bit of difference.
