This image falls into the Week 5-6 trap where people forget to start with the basics. Make Shadow Highlight and Neutral a part of your every image workflow.
Fixing this one is just straight up By The Numbers. BTN.
The darkest shadow should appear to be black and well black is neutral. so make the darkest shadow neutral.
The tree bark on the left with the dark patches kept asking to be more neutral. Mine is not perfect but I do not think it was a perfect gray in any case.
The highlight did not need to be neutral since the tonality of the scene was green and as we know from our Memory colors discussion Greens are more yellow than green..
