I need a reminder on how to save a mask to paint in the black in photoshop and then return that mask to CM to finish it.

Thanks,

Tina

Go to CM.

Do mask, curve mask to taste.

Click on save button (It looks like file folders)

Cancel.

Add mask to layer.

Highlight mask and alt-click to make the screen white.

Paste CM mask.  Control - V works (sometimes) or is it file or edit then paste.

the key point is to save the mask in CM.  And alt clicking the photoshop layer mask and pasting.

Hi Tina
I use a cheat sheet blue tacked to the side of my screen
It helps in both photoshop and curvemeister as you learn things
It not the most elegant of solutions but its right there when you need it

Hi
I have just learnt how to do this and I'm having problems
If I do this process but invert the mask using the 'invert' command in the mask menu things don't work properly
It looks like it might be pasting the un-inverted mask
Its certainly not pasting the mask I made

Is anyone else coming across this problem?
Any suggestions?

Julie

Julie, I have to check, but off hand I think its ctrl+I with the mask selected.

With the mask selected Ctrl-I will invert the mask.

A help suggestion.  Every once and a while go over shortcuts.  PS and CM use keyboard shortcuts.  It is hard to absorb all at once and later your usage changes.

I re-read my documentation at least once a year on my cameras and essential software.
