Hello,

A friend sent me this image that has very blue shadows.  I played around with it, but couldn't get the blue out without making the shadows too dark.  Sky also lost color in the process.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Good one Rhonda...
The image really appears to be magenta in the shadows and blue/cyan in the mid to 3/4 tones.
Set some hue clocks on S/H/mid tones. and you'll see what I mean.

I'll take a hack at it...Masks might be the best answer.

Ok...
Here is what I did...

1) 1st pass in RGB I did a by the numbers correction to the image.  I fixed the true shadows and made sure the highlights were neutral. I cut the mid-tone blue in half.
see RGB.ACV
2) In LAB 1.acv... I killed off most of the blue in the background because the next step is going to be pushing the color with a mask.

3) In LAB2.acv I adjusted the colors with a saturation slider move through a A channel mask.  I then adjusted the Green to reduce the cyan in the sky and blue to make it look bluer...

Anyone else??
Greg

Gee, Thanks so much, Greg--I guess I didn't set this thread to notify me, and I didn't get back to see your post.  I will try this myself tonight.  Looks really good!

Rhonda
