Do American troops have purple uniforms?

This from today's New York Times front page.  See if you can bring in the skin tones, and as a side effect make the uniforms brown and/or green instead of purple-blue.  Shame on you if you go by eye instead of relying on the hue clock!

Here is my try. First pass in RGB to adjust for faces. Second in Lab to get uniforms better. Think I did not manage uniforms.
