Here is a completely different sort of image for you to play with - what is the best colour space to use for this one?

how very strange - the image on the web comes out much darker than when you place it into photoshop - it is sRGB, so why?

That depends on browser, platform, your display, its profile, etc.

BTW on this very subjective image without a neutral...What color is the stringy part of the fungus?  is it creame colored or whiter than that?

The colour in PS is about correct - I thought the image was interesting from the viewpoint of trying to emphasis the shading in the fungi and increasing the saturation of the rest of the image.

I am continually impressed and delighted with what CM can do for me - I tried HSB and contrast pins for this image - all extremely quick and easy.  No extra adjustment was needed.  I must use this space more often instead of using lab & rgb.

Good but a bit too sharpened and colorfull. Nature preserve colors for serious things: reproduction and death.
I prefer the leaf in mine
