So... here's the video from my favorite photoshop guy on youtube.... the german wizard Jonas. Thakfully the link for the action is working.... so you can just download the action, but there's a bit of experimentation to be done in order to fully appreciate the benefits to be exploited.
It basically does the same thing as lobster... which does the color separation thing. However they give a fairlly good idea of the endless possibilities and creative moves that this sort of separation can endure without making the image completely ridiculous.
and I've begun to use curvemeister's curving genius on these chromaticity layers with blending options and beautiful things are happening.
