When Curvemeister 4 is available, do you want it to support older versions of Windows, pre-2000, including 98 and ME?

Because of changes in development tools, it's getting harder to continue to support earlier versions of windows, but it is still possible.  Besides simplifying support and testing, there are certain features of Windows, such as semi transparent windows, GDI+, and .NET functionality, that would be easier to use in Curvemeister if older versions of Windows were not supported.

Photoshop has been a Windows 2000 or later product since CS came out in 2003. By the time CM4 comes out a WinME/PS7 combo will be a decade old.

While I appreciate that not everyone upgrades their systems on a regular basis, most do a bit better than once-a-decade! There can't be that many people out there who'd still have use for CM4 on Win98, and anyone who is only needs to be pointed in the direction of a WinXP licence. Or advised to stick with CM3.

Let it go Mike. Legacy can't hold back progress forever.

I take your point, Derek, and appreciate the logic.  I think there's a good chance that there will not even be one request to keep this legacy support in place, which makes the question a no-brainer.

Ok...I'm running my TRS80 in DOS 6.2 compat mode...and I might want to upgrade to Win3.12 for the graphics interface...I hear they are really making that hardware sing....

I think that If I get the new 386 processors next year I'll be able to add the 50MB hard drive and then my 200 K images will finally have a home...I'm holding out for the CM interface that runs on a 3 1/2 inch 1.44 floppy.  Any chance we could see that this month?? I'd hate to hog up my hard drive with that bulky application....

No problem Greg.  Just don't ask for hard sectored 8 inch floppy support!  There are limits, after all.
