Greg, thanks again. I tried to run the manual install. Although the file CurveCtl3.ocx is in the designated folder, I get an error message that the file CurveCtl3.ocx cannot be found when I run the Regsvr32.exe program. Thanks for the trouble. Fortunately Curvemeister version 12 is still functioning.
Cheers from a hot South Africa. Today was 32° Celcius outside.

sure rub it in...it's 0 degrees C. Today...cloudy and sloppy...

Try completely un-installing and the re-installing...
BTW do you have the Visual C++ redistributable installed on your PC??  they could be part of the problem if they are missing...

Greg, bingo. I installed MS Visual C++ 2008 express edition and CM 3.0.19 is on board and running. Thanks a lot for your help.

Mike,
I've been having the same problem with 3.0.18 64 bit, CM will crash if I try to Load, access History, Favourites, Library etc.

Is there a 64 bit version of 3.0.19?

I have not had the problem with the 32 bit  CM & PS/CS4 combo on my Win7 64 bit setup.

PS I have the Visual C redist installed - which allowed the 64 bit install to finish

Is there a 64 bit version of 3.0.19? - Brian

Brian, you hit the nail on the head.  There is indeed a 64 bit v3.0.19, then neglected to create a link for it.

I added the v3.0.19 link to the beta page.

Mike,
installed 3.0.19 (both 32 and 64 bit) on Win 7 64bit.

32 bit went fine, 64 bit still crashing when attempting to access History, Library etc .

Note that I could not get CM 64 bit to uninstall properly - and thus had to install over it.
When uninstalling via Control Panel there would be just a brief flash of the black command screen.  When re-installing it would try and then say it failed.
Maybe this is the reason - what do I need to do to uninstall properly?

Mike,
tried uninstalling again and it appeared to 'take' - cleaned reistry with Desktop Maestro and re-installed - Note instal run As Administrator and UAC is off.
Problem still remains for me as follows:

-Load Curve, Browse History, Browse Library all cause crash of CM-64/CS4-64
-Using a curve that appears in the dialog box is OK, but Browse to = crash
-Favorites list appears and they can be used - note that the 32 bit Folder is accessed however Browse Favorites = crash
-Open a Pin File = crash
-Adding a pin file to the CM64 Swatches folder = crash on opening CM64

Note that other than Favorites, CM64 aims at the ProgramData/CM64 folder for History, Library, Swatches.

I have a suspicion that there is some conflict in folder direction and/or folder permissions - because the crash (mostly) occurs by just accessing the Folders.
Also as above, CM 64 persists in looking at some CM32 folders and BTW I just noticed that CM32 persists in using CM64's History folder (CM64 was installed after CM32).

Which raises another question - why is there a need to have duplicate History, Library, Swatches folders for CM32 and CM64? I can't imagine anyone needing to run both 32 and 64 CS4 at the same time.
