I went Windows 7 RC x64 three days ago.  Various CS4 apps plus LR x64 all install and run splendidly!  An annoying screen refresh flickering snafu which I had in Vista and PS x64 when doing toss-panning in PS has totally disappeared.  And on the pseudo-standard www.retouchartists.com speed test, where I get 17 seconds on Vista x64, I now get 15 seconds on Win7 x64.  All CS4 apps cold-start in 2-3 seconds.

Furthermore: the latest Curvemeister x64 (still in beta!) performs splendidly: a test-panorama with a size of about 9,900 x 63,300 pixels (about 627 megapixels) got its colors Lab-tweaked in CM -- in about 20 seconds.

So life is good on the bleeding edge!

Uh-uh, I was too quick! For it turns out that CM didn't adjust the whole image, but only the first 32,766 pixels, on the left side of the image. All the remaining pixels on the right side are unchanged.

Thanks for the heads up.  So is Windows 7 available as a public beta?  I'm wondering if this is something I can set up on my 64 bit system and try out.

Mike, which planet are you currently inhabiting?! Win7 has been available as a public RC for two weeks now -- even my cat knows that. And yes, it's very nice indeed -- a stable, fast production-ready OS, which I'll be running until the retail version comes out around Xmas time.

LOL - no excuses for me, then.  It's probably unfair to compare me to you your cat, who  is so smart she uses your old D1 to take photos of mice up there in Norway.

Thanks, Greg.  The error 1603 is the common denominator.  I think there's a missing system file that the installer needs.

I have installed the 64 Beta on my vista 64 system, it works for me.

Unfortunately the curves history folder for the 32-bit and 64-bit version is not the same (on my pc). There is the folder Curvemeister3 and the folder Curvemeister3-64.
A common folder would be better for works with the Photoshop-32 and Photoshop-64 versions.

Thanks Wolfgang

Yes, this is an inadvertent error that will be fixed in the next beta release.  You can change this setting on your system using regedit.

If you run regedit (be sure to use the 64 bit version), the key is named HistoryDir, and it is located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECurvemeister.comCurves 3-Install.

Change the value of HistoryDir to C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataCurvemeister.comCurvemeister_3History
