I have 11:00 AM CDT set aside for this weeks conference call. On Friday October 14th 2011.

Topics include:

1) Creating and saving and re-using ACV files.
2) Examine contrast in CM and discuss what happens with a straight contrast move VS. a contrast move with an S curve.
3) Discussion around various Black and White conversion processes - Yours, mine and others...
4) Interactive Correction of an Image.  Please send me an Image to work on.

There's one with a very nice cross cast. Low res, but I hope it's OK

I loaded an image with a colour cast and was playing a bit. I was thinking that we often drive colours appart in an image to make it look better, like foliage for instance.
A cross colour cast, like the picture, where the intensity of the cast change from side of face to middle part, is actually the opposite of what we want to do with driving colours appart, here we could get rid of the cast by  selecting the two points on my curve, one in the sronger and one in the weaker part of the cast. If I rotate the  curve (in ie the b channel) clockwise, to flatten that part, I then unstretch the cast. I then "lowered" both to get rid of yellow. Hope I make sense and do you agree? This took me 15 seconds to do

That certainly should work.I've never tried it..It might make a bigger mess of things.....Also remember to set the anchor point so you can move the curve back to the starting values...

This should be interesting.....  Lately I've been focusing on developing my image analysis skills.  This information on presaved curves presets should help me alot.  Do you have the ability to just observe an image and instantly know which of your presets would correct or dramatically improve the image?
Or... maybe developing signature tonality looks with curves.. as most of the great photographers have done.  I'm excited about this class.
