Although this forum is about correcting images, I have a thought on taking photographs.  I tried an experiment.  I took my Canon 5D m2 and left all lenses at home except for the 40 mm pancake.  It is a 2.8 lens.  No big zoom or flash or macro.  That combination almost looked like a point and shoot especially when you compare it to my 24-105.  Enough gear.

It was liberating not to have lots of weight and visibility.  I just used an old backpack and shot.  Zoom with my feet.  I need to get close.  Perfect no.  But for this travel trip it was good.  I need better technique for street photos.  What the heck.  I even went in a pool with my camera. 

For Christmas, I took my wife and grown daughter to Mexico.  Then on New Years Day we went to Rose Parade and Rose Bowl.  In retrospect, the parade needed telephoto. I wore my camera around my neck all day.  It was fun. 

I hope everyone has a great 2013.  I am getting back to some serious curves later.
