I have just looked at yours. I did not look under shared pictures, my mistake. Did we not have some photos very similar in one of the recent class's?  I am not familiar with the area that your photos were taken at. The colours seem so saturated and the sun very strong. The comments are just my  humble opinion and not meant to be critical.

No offense taken..the sun angle was low...after 7:00 PM local time in Las Vegas.  Valley of Fire is a state park 45 minutes north of Las Vegas on 15 you have to take a hard right and drive 12 miles into the desert to the park.  Not all were taken at that time but, the color is not too far off on the ones that were shot earlier.

The color was very strong...they are not too far off from what was seen as the sun set.
The highlighs were lit by the longest light of the day.  Very Golden yellow.
Not to wax poetic....It was one of those times when each shot was dramatic. 

I left there feeling euphoric as I was the only person out there on a Wednesday evening.

It was...the Indians names it because when the sun sets, the rocks look like they are on fire....
