Re: 2018 shots
Hi sjordan! These are great shots -- thank you for sharing! The SpaceX one is amazing -- really well-framed -- and the shot of the three kids is beautiful. I don't know if this is what this section of the CM site is for, but I had a small suggestion and made an edit of the Moscow pic. It's very quic...

Re: Fire and ice
Julie, are you ok there? https://wildfiretoday.com/2019/01/04/large-wildfire-in-tasmania-sends-smoke-into-hobart/ When I lived in southern California during a major wildfire, we had to evacuate not because the fire was particularly close to us, but because of the health danger from smoke. (Yes, this...

Re: Fire and ice
Yikes. I thought it was cold where I grew up (upstate New York), but the coldest it ever got was -20F and that was very rare; -10 was common for deep winter -- cold, but not life-threatening. To you, Greg, that must seem like spring. The abrupt jump to 45F is uncharacteristic, right? For my friends ...

Re: 5 Jan 2019 Discussion
In this photo of the roses, it's amazing how you've made what looks like a stack of plastic bags (?? -- in the bowl on the right) look beautiful The light here seems more like painting than photography.

Re: for 19th
I like the one where the guy at the top is looking straight ahead and the two people in front of him are both looking behind him. I think the symmetry accentuates the overall effect, while it's diluted in the shot where the couple are looking in different directions.

Re: for 19th
Definitely worth persisting with! The optical illusion is something I haven't seen before even in other 'pattern' photos -- it looks like the escalators are moving, and actually makes me feel a bit dizzy if I look at it long enough. The vertigo effect is more pronounced in b/w so I'd vote for that. ...
