I agree with Greg about color. I do look at shadows and highlights. I use ACR to start to repair shadow and highlights I am conservative about that. Let CM to the heavy lifting. I haven't worked with heavy color casts on a keeper recently.

I use camera calibration.

Starting on week 4.

BTN- one of the things that I do during color correction is over-saturate my corrected image and see what "blows up." A blue or red jacket will certainly go. Faces will get blown. Do the shadows get too blue, does the black dress change color? Etc.

Lat...

Welcome. It is fun.

BTW Greg, I am in the land of poor / no / intermittent internet. Don't expect much until after the fourth.

For example, your b&w conversion was good. It gave a variety of methods without a ton of discussion. It left the reader to go on and try. there are many who do not do b&w. It is not a great means of web images. Also, to print it correctly takes some extra skill and some printers are bet...

I have been a no show. I did not want to make suggestions that already have been answered. I am looking forward to the zone explanation.

(personal story- the drought and heat waves have been very bad in my part of the country. Last Wednesday night there was a brush fire that was headi...

More like color correction. There are natural colors. Grass. Blue sky. If the skin were an unnatural skin color, the color proof would show it. Just a crazy idea.

When I soft proof, photoshop compares my colors to the acceptable gamut of the paper. When I did the fake artichoke, I in...

I am enjoying it so far. I assume the class is aimed at CM 101 grads who are proficient at PS. It probably is not a photoshop class, as no special advanced selections or instructions.

I had an idea for CM or PS. When you soft proof, PS can show the out of gamut areas in zebras or false...

Thanks, Ganna. I am figuring how to get caught up. I looked at the first two weeks. Really, skimmed to see how far behind. The production values or format looks good. Greg has spent some time on this and I can see why it has taken a while to do. More later. Looks great.

Thanks Greg, I hope. I do have a little concern. I will read up and try to contribute.
