Ganna,

Rather than intending to start a discussion comparing the relative merits of CM and CPT, I simply wanted to bring Greg's attention to the videos for CPT. I thought they were very well done, and could possibly suggest some ideas for how CM might be promoted. Greg's respon...

Hi Greg,

Can you provide a link to the Reddit site, specifically to the part of the site in which you are editing images? I've looked at the site but am having difficulty finding it (it's a bit confusing to navigate through, at least for me).

Thanks,
Art

Hi Greg,

I thought the course was excellent.

In answer to your questions:

1. I am still having difficulty with luminosity adjustments of individual channels. I can't seem to visualize the final result very well. The blue channel is a particular problem for me ...

I think either a grid or flow chart would work well. (Maybe it would take less space to display in a grid?)

Regarding Prophoto, some folks recommend using it as a working space because you're not truncating the range of your document, particularly in monitors that display Adobe RGB. ...

Re -- the videos.

That's the point I was trying to make!
The question that we need to address is: how can CM become desirable for people to buy and learn in a world in which these guys are hugely popular and considered the "experts"?

I think that dismissing them outri...

Thanks Greg --

One of the arguments I've read for using Prophoto RGB as the working space involves the following scenario: let's say you're working on an image in sRGB; you increase the overall saturation by 10%; the colors in the "middle" of the space will increase by that...

I'd find a discussion of Color Settings in Photoshop useful. What are the pros and cons of using Prophoto RGB as the Working Color Space and then converting to sRGB if posting to the web (for example)? Adobe Camera RAW and Lightroom use Prophoto RGB, shouldn't we just continue to use that...

By the way, what I find hilarious, and scary, in the first video is how much worse off the color of the girl's face is when he's done "correcting" the image.
He says -- we've eliminated the red cast -- and her face is redder and her blouse has a strong magenta cast! Very odd. An...

Greg,

I think there are several factors at play here. One is that, as Julie points out, a lot of people these days are using smart phones for photography, with the adventurous using apps that automatically create "interesting" effects, and see no need for anything beyond that. Second, it ...
