Here's my attempt.  I just ran it through CM and set two neutrals, one on the rocks and one on the whitewater in the falls, in the RGB mode then through Focus Magic.

Greg and Lee,  Thank you both for your comments.  Greg, I've loaded your acv file and fully agree that the increased contrast adds alot.  I also found that I could completely get rid of the blue cast in the background hills by pulling the blue curve down a little at the 50% point.  Once I did t...

Thank you Mike.  I'm doing things that I really shouldn't be doing with the function and think I'm better off just using the Hue clocks to give a qualitatiive indication and direct measurements with a colorimeter to develop the quantitative data.

I have found Photoshop's shadows/Highlights command to be very useful.  I expected to be able to accomplish the same transformation by adjusting the curves in Curvemeister.  I have not been able to do so and wonder why.  Take for instance the Taroko Gorge image.  If I get aggressive with the fo...

Well, I've finally caught up just as the course ends.  I apologize for not having participated in the exchanges.  Nevertheless, I've learned a great deal and am anxious to start using this knowledge and the backlog of photo's I have waiting to be processed.  I've particularly enj...

Mike,  You mention that Delta is the linear between two colors in linear space.  Is there a way to have CM calculate it in human perceptual space or is this what is actually done already?

Here are my attempts on the week one exercises.  I just worked in Lab but I agree that it would be worthwhile to try them in all the color spaces just to see how they react.

Well, here is my first attempt.  I did not spend the time to take all the defects out - just tried to do something for the color.  It appears that I will be able to learn a great deal in the next few weeks.

I just set dark and light points and the adjusted the lightness curve to try and increase the contrast in the region of the frog and then boosted the saturation.  BoydMac

I adjusted the black point to the darkest area of the eye and the light end of the cure to an area that appeared reasonable to me.  It's not clear to me that the image should be a brown as it is do I played with the neutral.  The result is a image which to me appears more reasonable from a colo...
