Re: Basic Mask Choices Article
Wow an interesting bug? a CM issue? or my PC? Using CM3 (for a long time now) and found this using cc2015.5 Did not test on cc2015.1 (or earlier, that I can remember; always used the default color but I had an image that did not show well, either opaque or not). Went to change the color of the selec...

Re: Basic Mask Choices Article
Thanks....seems logical. I'm usually selecting pins on the a and/or b curves for very specific color corrections; sometimes in a very narrow location on the curve to fix a problem image. (I use one curve expanded to full size to fill my second monitor to make it easy to see; CM has a wonderful tool ...

Re: Basic Mask Choices Article
I did more exploring with pins on a curve and displaying the pixels as "selected" in image view.... and if I select 2 pins (select 1 and shift select the other; so both selected) then the selection in the image "seems" to be selecting either those areas of both pins OR all pixels...

Re: Basic Mask Choices Article
Thanks for both answers. I'll still look at the .pdf when it is available....and check back later. I'm guessing making a mask or selection from the image pixels shown via pin on curve might be easy as the "selection" is already done on screen and coding is mostly GUI. Making our own "...

Re: Basic Mask Choices Article
Hmmm, I am logged in but it says I'm not allowed to download the .pdf info on masks. Maybe the answer to my question is in the .pdf? I make and use masks via CM often. One special feature of CM I really appreciate is the button to view what part of an image will be affected by the pin point on a cur...

I was about to ask another question/new thread on a somewhat related topic.....and to my amazement after looking at one of the videos again, I found my answer; that the capability is already there. So sharing here in case others missed it. The question stemmed from when we select a point on the imag...

I answered Greg via email but forgot to post a reply here... Yes, if the channel exists for a mask, it works in mask carte. The problem was a plugin I use makes a layer mask, but unless that layer is selected, CM does not see the mask. Solution: save the layer mask as a channel layer and voila, impo...

Thanks, I remember how to do the above OK. And you answered my question about a live view of mask applied to the image...can't be done...I understand. And that would be a nice addition in a future version of CM???? But I still have another lingering question: If I make a mask in Ps, then open the Ps...

Somehow I lost my way or forgot...can you point me to where/how? As I recalled, if my image in Ps had a layer adjustment mask, it would show up in CM mask carte to select and use. Now it seems that is true only if the mask is named alpha 1 (or 2 or 3)....what happened to other masks such as a curves...
