My RGB version.

Wow, I actually finished my week 5 assignments. Now off to week 6.

I did two versions. One in Lab and one in RGB. I did not use a mask for either.
I prefer the RGB image. I found it easier to get more light onto the dreary London scene.

First up Lab.

Here I used the R channel mask. I moved the Lab slider to get more colourful and curved the L channel to get some light onto the people inside the shop.

I feel more confident with masks now.
I used the G Channel mask and popped the colours with a and b channel. I then lightened the image a bit more by moving the L channel. Maybe I should have rather curved it, but it does not look like I lost detail.

I used the K channel mask with this and curved it with Lab. I don't think it is too garish.

My new mantra:
"The mask should be dark for the areas to be protected" ::)

My lemurs with a b channel mask and a saturation adjustment. Also increased eye colour by moving mask curve up a bit.

Hi Greg,
I used the K channel mask and then curved it with the Lightness channel of Lab. Not my proudest creation!
I think I need serious help from the master.

Hi Greg,
I have been struggling with the mask assignment on Sun Moon Harbor. When I use the K channel to create the mask what curve channel do I use. Can I use the a or lightness channel from Lab or must I use the curves from CMYK?

I also had problems with the inverting of the K cha...

I see that it is not a huge difference in the mask line between shot 1 and 2 but just enough to show that you removed all reflection on the stone wall. I'll give it a whirl.
