I set a neutral and the hue clocks. The adjustment was straight forward and each face is in the “lunch hour range”. I did the exercise a couple of times and it seems that the choice of the hue clock is important. I ended up with some very sick looking people.

1. Started in RGB with People Skin 1 pin, there is a green cast
2. I tried setting a neutral but that was a disaster, I wonder if it is because there is a lot of noise in the image. I tried setting the sample to 5x5 to see if that helped, in a word no.
3. Restart, I set a highlight a...

I did this quickly as instructed, some are not as good as they could be but it was a quick exercise in pinning skin tones.

Hi Greg

Just reading up on skin tones and pins. In number of places you have images or partial images of swatches. Curvemeister comes with nine standard pins, is it possible to get a copy of the text document with the expanded swatches group with the Lab values. I have been searching for ...

This one gave me some grief - hours!! I set two neutrals but couldn’t get anywhere until I set a highlight on the whitest light. Then it clicked into place, or at least it looks better. I didn’t touch the curves at this stage but I will revisit this image when I have time.

1. Set the two neutrals in RGB and worked on these points. My concern is I have lost some highlight detail.
2. I tried Lab and used the thresholds on the highlight and shadow and then some curve rotation on the a and b channels.
3. This time I started in Lab and I set shadow, highlight an...

Taroko Gorge

I had several attempts at this image as I usually do and I am posting my best two.

1. I used the Honest Abe technique and set a neural when I thought the image looked “right”.

2. I set toe neutrals in slightly different places and used the saturation s...

1. Started in Lab and used the shadow and highlight thresholds to increase the contrast. Then I used the saturation slider. Could not find the red net and I lost those towering hills! On a second glance there is some red.

2. This time I started in RGB and adjusted the thresholds on the RG...

I tried the method using the cyan curve but I could not control the colours so I went to the black curve and had more success. I would like to see some more punch in the colours.
